As with the other members of this family, Cecile or Ceil as we knew her had many spelling variations of her name from the time of immigration, through the early census records. She has be enlisted as Cecilia on the Hamburg Passenger Lists, Celia on the Naturalization Papers and1910 Census Records. Her sister, Alice indicated she was born Celia and changed her name to Ceil. Of interesting note, the 1910 Census shows Celia as not speaking English. As with the other family members there is some discrepancy on the dates of birth. Census records would indicate in 1910, she was 8 years old, putting a birth year at 1902.However, her son Erwin has indicated verbally, her birth date was 5 Jul 1901. She immigrated with the family 27 Apr 1905. Heis shown on the 1910 Census living with her father and mother and siblings at 1405 North Maplewood. In her later years, it is possible but not documented that there was a miscarriage between sons Richard and Erwin. She never drove car. The story has it that she did once and killed a pedestrian. They bought her a car but she never drove it. In a conversation with her daughter Sandy it has been confirmed that she did indeed kill an elderlyman in Chicago while driving. She was about 24 at the time.

Had tubes tied in 30's but had child in 40's. When she went tote doctor afterwards, the doctor indicated the tubes were still tied.

Max's occupation was shown as a Traveling Salesman in the 1910Census. Aunt Alice and Erwin King, indicated that he sold LadiesUndergarments. The first finding of Max Ainbinder is in the 190Chicago, Cook, Illinois City Directory and shows him living in the rear 657 N. Campbell Ave. He was 36. The name was spelledEINBINDER. 1910 Census, Illinois 057-0716-0205 shows his name asMax AINBINGER. When he died in 1944 he was living in Venice California with his second wife. He is buried in the Knights ofJoseph, Gate 36, Lot 639, Grave 1 of Waldheim Cemetery, ProvisoTownship, 16 Oct 1944 His Death Certificate shows he was Age 70. It does not name his parents however, the 1910 Census, Illinois says his Father was born PR, Mother born WR and the 1910 Census shows that his Father was born in Russia as was his mother. The census also says he was born in Russia. On his Death Certificate, the informant was a Mary Levin, but no known idea who she is. I found the Hamburg Passenger List for this family at the LDS. The family immigrated on ship named Bluecker fromHamburg 27 Apr 1905. He is shown with wife Hanna and fourchildren.. Laser, Markus, Cecilia and Ida.. His age was listed as 33 years. Hanna 28. Place of residence listed as Warsaw, Russland, occupation Shopkeeper (Kauffman). No other known family members seem to appear on this ship. In a conversationwith Aunt Alice, it appears that there is an AINBINDER family in New York, Manhattan, New York who was in the Jewelry business and she believes there is some relation.Date: 7 SEP 1911 Place: Chicago, Cook, Illinois, Cook, IllinoisATTR: IMMIGR,NAT.

"The clippings describe the excursion by Miss Carey into the fields of social work, where she first met and fell in love with Dr. Rosett a Socialist politically and a Russian emigrant."
